We recognize that the most important job any manager has is managing time, people and money.

Who We Are

The founders, Lawrence Serven and Charles Pevsner, were financial and systems professionals at Fortune 500 companies. They had the vision of dramatically improving the archaic and senseless budgeting process that they experienced at these large companies but with the intention of rolling it out to mid-sized companies who were mired in Excel Hell.

The vision of the founders of XLerant was shaped by their own work in the budget planning and expense analysis processes for Fortune 500 companies; not as consultants but as employees. They recognized that the most important job any manager has is to manage resources - time, people and money. Corporate performance management therefore begins with the line manager, and its very success hinges upon their direct and willing participation. The founding principle of XLerant was to dramatically improve both user flexibility AND financial controls and get financial people out of the Excel system development process. Budgeting is a "mission critical" application that needs its own set of capabilities and that users and finance needs can only be met with an application that exclusively focuses on the complexities and uniqueness of budgeting.

The company's founders worked at Pepsi, Reader's Digest, IBM, Deloitte Consulting, and other highly regarded Fortune 500 firms where they honed their planning skills. They now lead a team of people dedicated to transforming the planning process into a valuable management exercise that doesn't just predict results, but drives them; and in doing so elevate the role of the finance organization into that of a true partner in the business.

The key to achieving this is XLerant's BudgetPak budget software that aids enormously in the corporate budget planning process. XLerant's team brings value to mid-sized companies looking for a solution to the complexity of the budget process but with simplicity in use.
