Lawrence Serven, President

Mr. Serven, the author of Value Planning: The New Approach to Building Value Every Day (J. Wiley & Sons, 2001) brings his passion for best practices to bear on helping companies find solutions to their budgeting and planning challenges. He combines real-world knowledge of the planning process with strong, experienced based intuition of what makes great software from the end user’s perspective. Mr. Serven was previously a founder and principle of the Buttonwood Group, a research and consulting firm specializing in organizational effectiveness and performance management. A former Fortune 500 senior finance executive, his contributions to corporate performance management have been the subject of a feature article in The New York Times, The Harvard Business Review, CFO Magazine and other publications.

Lawrence is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Boston College and earned his MBA at Duke's Fuqua School of Business.

Charles Pevsner, Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Pevsner has 20-plus years experience in computer systems development and software consulting, with a concentration on molding business models and strategies to develop breakthrough solutions. Previously he was president and founder of Datatrope Systems, which developed applications for multinational financial consolidations, planning, international money transfer, market information systems, and NYSE floor programs. He also served as acting chief technology officer for several startup companies.

Prior to forming Datatrope Systems, he was vice-president, Development Technology at DynaMedix Corporation, a medical instrumentation software company serving the medical data entry systems industry; and was previously a member of the Advanced Technology group at IBM, helping to lead Prodigy, one of the early Internet service providers. Earlier, co-founded and served as software director for a startup developing diagnostic test systems for automotive and fuel research laboratories.

Charles is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Cornell University where he earned his Master's Degree in Computer Science.
